Alternative Certification Program (ACP) Applications

The Houston Independent School District (HISD) Alternative Certification Program (ACP) application is officially open! 

HISD’s Alternative Certification Program prepares and supports degreed professionals from diverse backgrounds through high-quality coursework aligned to HISD expectations. Our goal is to ensure every classroom is led by a high-performing, certified teacher committed to positively impacting student achievement. 

Eligibility Requirements 

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution 
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
