Strong Start to the School Year

HISD is celebrating a successful start to the new school year, opening with near-zero teacher vacancies, no major power or HVAC outages across campuses, and more students riding buses. These early wins show how far our systems have come for students, teachers, and families. And for the first time in memory, no HISD student entered an F-rated school on the first day of school. Superintendent Miles has set the next goal: bringing every campus up to an A or B. With the progress we’re seeing, that goal is well within reach.
