More HISD 11th Graders Are Earning College Credit

Houston ISD 11th graders are continuing to earn college credit at increasing rates, exceeding the District’s annual target for the third consecutive year. In 2025–26, 43% of 11th graders earned college credit, compared to 40% in 2024–25 and 35% in 2023–24. The District’s goal is to reach 48% by 2028.
The increase is evident across several student groups and college credit opportunities. Emergent bilingual students increased their college credit attainment rate by 10 percentage points year over year, while the percentage of 11th graders at NES campuses earning college credit increased by 38%. The number of students earning college credit through UT OnRamps also increased by more than 60% in one year.
HISD is continuing to increase opportunities for students to earn college credit by growing access to dual credit through the Associates for All pathway, providing resources to support AP and IB success, and strengthening dual credit instruction through professional learning and curricular support.
